Once you have decided to build on space-only floor, the next choice is how the stand is made. Both routes can look professional. They simply solve different problems.
Custom stands
A custom stand is designed and built for your brand and your space. It gives you freedom of shape, height, finishes and features, and it can carry a very specific idea. It usually takes longer to design and produce, and much of it may be built for one show.
Modular stands
A modular stand uses a reusable frame or system with changeable graphics. It can often be reconfigured for different stand sizes, stored between shows and used again, with mainly the graphics changing. The trade-off is that the system influences what shapes are possible.
Questions to ask
- How many shows will you attend in the next two years?
- Will your stand size change between shows?
- Do you have storage, or will it need to be arranged?
- Does your product need a specific structure or feature?
Many good stands combine the two, using a modular base with custom feature elements. If you are unsure, share your show calendar with your designer and compare both options over the whole period, not just the first event.
