What Affects Exhibition Stand Cost?

“How much will a stand cost?” is one of the first questions clients ask. The honest answer is that it depends, because two stands of the same size can be very different projects. These factors have the biggest influence.

Size and height

Larger stands need more structure, flooring, graphics and labour. Double-deck stands and high features add engineering and approval requirements.

Custom or reusable

A one-off custom build carries its full cost in one event. A reusable or modular stand can spread cost across several shows, although storage and refurbishment need to be included.

Finishes and features

Lighting, screens, joinery, glass and special finishes all add cost. Choose where detail will be noticed most, and keep other areas simple.

Location and logistics

Transport, venue rules, build times, overtime and travel all count. An event far from the workshop adds cost, as does a short build window.

Costs outside the stand

Floor space, power, internet, rigging, cleaning and exhibitor fees are often charged by the organiser or venue. Check what each quotation includes, so you compare like with like.

How to keep control

  • Start early, because rushed work usually costs more.
  • Share your budget range at the beginning.
  • Prioritise the elements that serve your goal.
